Who we are
SnapToDown (snaptodown.com) is a free online tool for downloading public Snapchat videos, Stories, and Spotlight clips. This Privacy Policy explains what information we do — and do not — collect when you use the site.
No account, no login
You do not need an account and you never have to log in to use SnapToDown. We do not ask for your name, email address, phone number, or any other personal details.
Snapchat links you paste
When you paste a Snapchat link into the downloader, our server fetches the public Snapchat page temporarily in order to extract the direct video file URL, and returns that URL to your browser. Pasted links are processed in memory only for this extraction — they are never stored, logged, or shared with any third party.
Where the videos come from
Downloaded videos are served directly from Snapchat’s own content servers (Snapchat CDN, e.g. sc-cdn.net). We do not host, copy, re-encode, or modify any videos on our servers, and we do not add any watermark.
Personal data we collect
We do not collect or store any personal data about our visitors. There are no contact forms, no comments, no registrations, and no analytics or advertising trackers on this site.
Cookies
We do not set any tracking, advertising, or analytics cookies. WordPress and our caching plugin may use strictly-necessary technical cookies for the site to function (for example, to serve cached pages). No cookie on this site is used to identify you personally.
Embedded content
Pages on this site may include embedded content from Snapchat’s servers (for example, video thumbnails). Embedded content behaves in the same way as if you had visited Snapchat directly, and may be subject to Snapchat’s own privacy policy.
Children’s privacy
This service is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect any data from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised.
